Earthwatch Encounters: A Community Open House Series
We want to meet you! Earthwatch is opening its doors and inviting you to our headquarters in Allston, Massachusetts for a FREE lecture series, showcasing stories from our own backyard, as well as environmental results from around the globe.

Loons and the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill
Tuesday, November 15, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
This fall, Earthwatch is pleased to launch a brand new expedition that will
study the effects of the Gulf Oil Spill on the local loon population. Join us to
hear lead scientist Jim Paruk talk about this unique new project and what he
hopes to accomplish in the Gulf of Mexico.

Join Gardner School Teacher Fellows Eric Meuse and Nhan Bang as
they share stories from their experiences over the summer on the Earthwatch
Expedition Songbirds of the Rocky Mountains. Learn how they’re bringing this
unique field science experience into their classrooms and hear about their
plans for environmental community projects right here in Allston.

Sebastian Castro Tanzi, lead researcher at Earthwatch’s field center in Tarrazu will discuss the impact of his work with a cooperative of coffee farmers in Costa Rica.
